Originally published at Internet.comAllWebMenus is a DHTML menu/JavaScript menu builder for Web navigation that the vendor states requires no DHTML or JavaScript experience. It creates cross-browser, pop-up or drop-down Web menus that work alike in all browsers supporting DHTML held by popular platforms (WIN, MAC, UNIX) and browsers (IE, Firefox, Mozilla, Safari, etc.).
DHTML/JavaScript menus are designed with a treelike approach. Users can tailor their menus by using the interface or by choosing from the Theme Gallery. You can customize the menu through available CSS properties, AJAX effects, slide menus and more.
The menu can be either vertical or horizontal (pop-up or drop-down menu), it can be movable, stay visible while scrolling, contain static or animated images, borders, colors, and more. Once everything is set, you can use the "Link Menu to Web Page" command to link the menu to your Web page.
Features include:
- UNICODE text
- Ready-to-use Themes
- A Style Editor which allows for the creation and saving of customized Themes
- Free Dreamweaver extension and NetObjects Fusion component
- Import FrontPage Navigation Structures
- Support for Expression Web
- Support for .JPG, .GIF and .PNG image files
- Right-to-Left language support (Arabic, Hebrew, etc.)
- Multiple rows and columns on menus and submenus
- Vertical scrollbar for JavaScript menus
- Menu building process with separate JavaScripts for different browsers
- Ability to use menus over Flash objects, form elements, applets and IFrames
- Use multiple menus in the same page
- Create popup, hidden, horizontal and vertical menus
- Free Sitemap generator based on the menu structure
- Specify optional JavaScript Commands to create extensible and programmable menus
The vendor also offers add-in tools for use with AllWebMenusPro. Among the available add-ins are:
- AllWebMenus Floating Menus Add-in, which is related to the "Menu Floats (drifts) on Scroll" Main Menu property and adds an Advanced Floating Menu option that allows for more customization (such as floating behavior within specific sections of the page) and for different navigation cases within the page. Capabilities include: Instead of a constantly floating menu, you can set the menu to float within a specific area of the page; the ability to point out/highlight the section the user is reading and to give direct links to other sections within the page when scrolling long pages; and the ability to act like a floating tooltip (pointing out/highlighting the section the user is actually reading).
- AllWebMenus Server-Side Menus API Add-in, with the ability to generate menus based on any conditions/parameters you like, through database-driven data or page variables. Menus are created on-the-fly, and, according to the vendor, you can program them on any server-side environment (PHP, JSP, ColdFusion, ASP.NET, etc.). Features include the ability to create both fully dynamic menus (an entire menu can be driven from database or variables) or semi-dynamic menus (only particular menu items can be driven from database or variables, the rest of them being static); and the ability to customize all menu properties either through the GUI of AllWebMenus or through the variables and functions available via the API.Author: Company Rep
