Description:
Mark your calendar for Friday, August 14 at 1 p.m. for the new Vancouver Community Library groundbreaking ceremony at the corner of Evergreen and C Streets in downtown Vancouver. The event will include speeches by dignitaries, information about the new building, and refreshments. Opening in 2011, the new 83,000 square foot library is primarily funded by a library facilities bond measure passed by Vancouver voters in 2006. The approximately $37 million cost for the five-level structure is also supported by a $5 million anonymous private gift and donation of the land by Riverwest developer Killian Pacific. For more information about library construction projects, visit www.fvrl.org and click on the Building for the Future graphic, or call 695-1566.
