Filmmaker Gregory Bayne and death row exoneree Kirk Bloodsworth invite you to come hear Kirk's engaging re-telling of his truly remarkable story of triumph over injustice, and to be part of the production of their feature documentary film, BLOODSWORTH: An Innocent Man, at 7pm on Thursday, May 17th at the Egyptian Theater in downtown Boise.

Kirk Bloodsworth is the first death row inmate in the United States to be exonerated by DNA evidence. Sentenced to death in 1985 for a crime he did not commit, his remarkable story is the subject of the new documentary film, BLOODSWORTH: An Innocent Man, by Idaho filmmaker Gregory Bayne.

Kirk is a natural storyteller with a keen ability to whisk you away into his world as he guides you through his life story with depth, heart and humor, and this event is designed to provide him with the opportunity to do what he does best; tell his story to an audience. We want YOU to be in that audience.

The evening, which will be filmed by Gregory and crew, will provide the spine of the film which will unfold the facts of his case through interview, archival footage and animated sequences. It's a crucial element in the production of the film, and a wonderful opportunity to be part of this homegrown endeavor.

Admission is free, but donations toward the film's continued production are kindly encouraged.

Join the Basque Museum's Educational Committee for a Movie Night on May 17 at 7:00 PM to view a film written and directed by Emilio Estevez in 2010.

THE WAY is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world. Martin Sheen plays Tom, an irascible American doctor who comes to France to deal with the tragic loss of his son (played by Emilio Estevez). Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage "The Way of St. James" (Camino de Santiago) pilgrimage route to honor his son's desire to finish the journey. What Tom doesn't plan on is the profound impact this trip will have on him. Through unexpected and oftentimes amusing experiences along "The Way," Tom discovers the difference between "the life we live and the life we choose."

THE WAY was filmed entirely in Spain and France along the actual Camino de Santiago. Learn more about the two (northern and southern) routes that pass through the Basque Country as pilgrims head west to their ultimate destination in Galicia.
