Brown Sugar Scrub San Francisco CA

Brown sugar is softer than white sugar, and smoothes the skin more than salt. The tub or shower may be slippery with sugar granules falling on the ceramic or tiles, so be careful.

Steps

Making the Scrub
  1. Mix ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Make sure fragrance is skin tolerant. Mix fragrances to make an appealing combination.
  3. This can be stored in an 8-ounce plastic container with a screw top lid.
Using the Scrub
  1. While in the shower, stir the mixture. The oil will rise to the top.
  2. Use a small handful on legs, arms, feet, belly and back. Because of the oil, you may not want to use on the face.
  3. Rinse off with warm water.

Warnings

  • If using citrus essential oils, be careful in the sun as the skin is more prone to burning with citrus oils. Do not go out into the sun for several hours after applying; best used at night.
  • Be careful, tub will be slippery after rinsing.

Things You'll Need

  1. 1 cup brown sugar
  2. 1/2 cup oil (virgin coconut or olive)
  3. 10-15 drops fragrance made for skin usage or safe essential oils like Lavender or Jasmine.
