Originally published at Internet.comCamPermanent allows you to record and store video to your PC from video devices. It supports Web cams, net cams (IP-Cams, still picture and motion-JPEG and MPEG4-mode) and all video devices that are working with an up to date driver for Windows.
The permanent record functionality allows you to record from all connected cameras permanently, 24 hours 7 days a week. Each video can be adjusted in size or record length. Additional there is network server client functionality to send the video from all cameras from one server PC to all connected client PCs. The number of cameras is not restricted.
For surveillance purposes there is a built-in motion detector which has numerous functions. You can select which areas of the video are tested for motion, in which time range, on which days, in which intervals etc. The functions that can be started at motion detection are: video recording, picture capturing, external program execution, sound playing, FTP transfer, E-mail sending and more.
Additionally there is a scheduler that works in all selectable time ranges and intervals. All cameras and all functions can work simultaneously. Example uses include uploading the video picture of all cameras to a Web page or parallel viewing of all net cams within a company's LAN.
In addition to the CamPermanent product offering, the vendor also offers CamUniversal, with an integrated Web server, allowing you to view all cameras live via HTTP requests in your Web page. The webserver makes it possible to control the program remotely.
Other features include an integrated media viewer and an external player.
