Canon Powershot SD750

Very Good

Canon PowerShot SD750

Advanced internal hardware powers the Canon Powershot SD750 to produce quality photos with reduced response times and fast boot up speeds. The Canon Powershot SD750 is the ideal camera for the amateur photographer with a quick draw. How many times have you missed the perfect picture because the action had already finished by the time your camera was out and ready to go? With the Canon Powershot SD750, you’ll anticipate the action and capture memories better and faster than ever before.

Standout Features

• 3-inch LCD

• 7.1 megapixels

• DIGIC III image processor

Features

Nothing reduces the all-around utility of a digital camera like long wait times between shots and during boot up. The Canon Powershot SD750’s image processor, the DICIC III, manages to reduce lens response time and nearly eliminate down time between shots. The Canon Powershot SD750 will take 1.7 shots per second until the memory card is filled up. The speedy processor also reduces autofocus times. Best of all, even with stunning performance, the Canon Powershot SD750 consumes less energy than your average point-and-shoot, resulting in increased battery longevity.

7.1 megapixels is a pretty underwhelming number vis-à-vis many of the latest generation of compact cameras out there. 4 x 6 prints will look every bit as good as traditional film based photos at 7.1 megapixels. Larger portraits and landscapes, however, may not exhibit the quality of the photo lab.

Like many of the freshest digital cameras on the market, the Canon Powershot SD750 includes face recognition technology that targets faces rather than inanimate objects as the focal point of a photo. Simply pressing the shutter button half way down will cause the Canon Powershot SD750 to track multiple faces in the same frame. You’ll get better photos and ensure that the people you want to see in your photos are in focus.

As anyone who’s ever owned a compact digital camera can tell you, red eye is always a problem. The Canon Powershot SD750 includes the ability to edit reduce and remove demonic red eyes from your photos immediately after you take them. Canon’s red eye correction works fantastically and the results are pleasingly clear on the bright 3-inch LCD.

Summary of Reviews from Across the Internet

Reviewers love the high powered flash on the Canon Powershot SD750. Nighttime portraits turn out well on the Canon Powershot SD750.

The Canon Powershot SD750 only has a 3x zoom capability. Reviewers would like to see at least 5x.

Summary

With a solid range of features and automatic settings, the Canon Powershot SD750 is a versatile, go-anywhere digital camera that will capture memories quicker and with more fidelity than the competition. It goes without saying that the price tag only adds to its appeal. You can find better cameras out there, but why pay double for only marginally better performance? The Canon Powershot SD750 is one of our absolute favorite budget point-and-shoot cameras.
