The Lane Parke development project is comprised of 27 acres in the heart of Mountain Brook Village. Architectural and development plans are posted on their website here. This is one of the largest retail and residential projects ever proposed for Mountain Brook, and the chamber urges the community to be informed regarding the proposed ordinance changes and development plans. Please note that there is a public hearing scheduled at the City Council Chambers in City Hall, Crestline Village, on Monday, October 26th beginning with a pre-council discussion at 5:30, public meeting at 7:00. This project is currently on the agenda, but can be rescheduled, so please check back or check the Mountain Brook City Hall website to confirm. Do you have an opinion? The 2009 Conference Committee invites you to the next PPIC technical conference to be held in Birmingham, AL at the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa .The hotel is located southwest of downtown Birmingham in Hoover, the distinctive urban Renaissance resort provides a uniquely inspired setting. The resort is within minutes of upscale dining and shopping, and is easily accessible to area interstates, airports, and downtown Birmingham.Spouses and guests can participate in the Guest Program that will take advantage of the Birmingham area. Tentatively guests and spouses will tour Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Southern Progress Corporation home of Southern Living Magazine and join the Awards Luncheon on Wednesday.The committee is finalizing details and the following schedule is representative of what we are planning. Events will begin in the morning after breakfast and end by early afternoon, allowing free time for shopping or enjoying the numerous leisure activities available at the resort, including an outdoor pool, indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, fitness center, 12,000 sq ft spa, golf, and tennis.
