Steps

  1. Open the picture that you want to convert to Jpeg form in any photograph program.
  2. Click on the 'File' menu.
  3. Click on 'Save As'. It is important not to click 'Save' as this will just save it as it is now, you're changing it.
  4. Click on the drop-down menu; it usually says 'save as type' on the left.
  5. Click JPEG (often it will have '(*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.jpe;*.jfif)' next to it.
  6. Rename the file if necessary, and it's done.
Alternate Method
  1. Right-click the file that you want to convert, and drag your mouse over "Open With".
  2. Click on "Preview".
  3. Click on the "File" menu.
  4. Click on "Export".
  5. Choose the type of image.
  6. Rename the file if you like.

Tips

  • If you are on Adobe Photoshop or similar programs there is often a 'Save for web' option, which does the same thing.
  • If JPEG is not available, then you may either try to trick the program by saving it as file.jpg, or download another image-editing program.

Warnings

  • Saving images as Jpegs can sometimes destroy the picture, so always keep an extra copy saved in the original form.
  • DO NOT USE PAINT as this will DEFINITELY ruin the quality of the image
