(NC)-With summer just around the corner, start off the barbeque season with this juicy burger to wow the crowd. Change it up by personalizing it with different twists!

Serves: 8

Ingredients:

1 egg, beaten

1 small onion, minced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp (5 mL) each chili powder, dried oregano and cumin

1/4 cup (50 mL) Heinz Tomato Ketchup

2 lb (1 kg) ground beef

1/4 cup (50 mL) Heinz BBQ Sauce, any flavour

8 slices Monterey Jack or Cheddar cheese

8 burger buns

8 slices crisp, cooked bacon

Heinz Tomato Ketchup, Relish and Mustard

Preparation:

Preheat the grill to medium-high. Mix the egg with the onion, garlic, chili powder, oregano, cumin and ketchup. Crumble in beef and stir gently to combine.

Shape into 8 patties. Grill, brushing with barbecue sauce often (if using), for 5 to 7 minutes per side or until no longer pink in the centre. Top with cheese and cook for 45 to 60 seconds longer. Transfer to buns. Top with bacon and condiments.
