Research labs and video conferencing companies or other multimedia companies will also transmit large amounts of data, and may need the bandwidth from a T3 line.
When a large company needs network and Internet access, they may choose to get a T3 line. This would allow them to connect their employees on a network, and allow their employees to remotely access the network if work needs to be done from the employee’s home. In some cases, you can use a T3 line for both telephone lines and an Internet connection.

When you get a DS3 line, you will need to pay two separate fees. The first charge is called a port charge. This is for the DS3 line itself. The port charge is the base charge for the DS3 line.
