Diabetes Relief Boston MA

Your pancreas produces insulin which is released as the glucose in your bloodstream rises. Insulin is a key that unlocks the muscle and lean tissue cells and allows them to absorb glucose. It increases the ability of the cell membranes in the uptake of glucose from the blood. In this way it effectively removes glucose from the blood and prevents it being stored as fat.

If you re a diabetes sufferer then you know that diabetes is a dramatic and unwanted intrusion into your daily life.

Here s some information:

Type 1 Diabetes, also called Insulin Dependent Diabetes, usually occurs in young people. Their pancreas doesn t produce enough insulin and daily injections are needed to metabolize their blood sugar.

A person can be born with Diabetes 1 or it is developed by those who cannot or will not control Diabetes Type 2 with proper medication, diet and exercise.

Yes! Unfortunately… if Diabetes 2 is not controlled it can morph into Diabetes 1 and become a truly life threatening illness.

Type 2 Diabetes, often labeled Adult Onset Diabetes, shows up almost exclusively in adults. Diets rich in high GI foods are the usual cause and obesity is a huge component.

Diabetes 2 begins when your pancreas begins to feel the burden of ongoing insulin stimulus from a long history of blood sugar spikes. Your muscles become insulin resistant and can no longer take up the blood sugar.

Diabetes 2 is a direct result of eating a diet rich in highly processed carbohydrates. To control and reverse Diabetes 2 you must get yourself onto a diet that is low in these foods.

Two important hormones regulate the digestion process. These are insulin and glucagon. These hormones form a team. They work with each other to control the level of sugar in the body to maintain it within healthy parameters.

Here s what happens:

Your pancreas produces insulin which is released as the glucose in your bloodstream rises. Insulin is a key that unlocks the muscle and lean tissue cells and allows them to absorb glucose. It increases the ability of the cell membranes in the uptake of glucose from the blood. In this way it effectively removes glucose from the blood and prevents it being stored as fat.

The struggle for people with diabetes is that either they don t produce enough insulin, or the insulin they do produce can t do its work properly. In addition, because they are in insulin resistance their cells don t respond properly to insulin. The outcome is that the glucose in their bloodstream can t get into the muscles and lean tissue so they are left with high blood glucose levels. One way the body tries to cope with this is via increased urination.

Glucagon on the other hand works in reverse to insulin!

When you exercise, for example, your muscles have a high demand for blood sugar as fuel, so your blood glucose level falls. Your pancreas detects that you are low on blood glucose and this triggers a slow down in the secretion of insulin. At the same time the output of glucagons is increased. Glucagon s job is to break down glycogen, the stored form of glucose in the liver. The liver can now release this glucose into the bloodstream, your blood glucose level rises to where it should be, which in turn signals the pancreas to switch off glucagon release.

What can you do to get relief from diabetes and possibly reverse the symptoms?

Mediterraneans appear to have relatively low instances of diabetes. Many studies have shown that adopting a Mediterranean style diet high in monounsaturated vegetable fats (olive oil is the best source), low in saturated fats and transfatty acids and high in fiber can be helpful.

Certainly adopting a Mediterranean style diet will improve your overall health and reduce your risk of diabetes.

Another highly effective protocol that is producing significant relief from diabetes symptoms in a lot of sufferers it to begin a program of drinking ionized alkaline water every day.

This result is quite extraordinary!

Ordinary tap water can be run through an alkaline water ionizer and produce both short term and long term relief for diabetes sufferers. And this ionized alkaline water is rich in negative ions which act as a powerful anti oxidant to neutralize the hordes of free radicals in our bodies.

Combine the Mediterranean style diet with a program of drinking Ionized Alkaline Water and you ll be amazed at the results.
