The company's new HDTV100 hits stands this week, offering an over-the-air HDTV, UHF/VHF (75ohm) and analog cable receiver with portable antenna.
The unit in a tiny, USB 2.0 device not much larger than a Flash drive, and powered entirely off the USB bus. It features a dual tuner TV receiver, allowing users to receive high-definition ATSC signals, as well as analog TV.
The product supports up to 1080i resolution, and comes with an infrared remote and DVR software. The software supports Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and scheduled recording, as well as territory and channel name recognition. It also includes a D-sub video/audio input cable.
"Diamond's HDTV100 TV receiver is the perfect traveling companion for a laptop," said Diamond Chief Executive Bruce Zaman. "Diamond is proud to offer all types of communications solutions from modems to graphics cards, but this HDTV offering is a really exciting product that anyone can use to watch high definition TV on their computer."
While the device is powered from a PC's USB adapter, video and audio are handled quite differently. According to Diamond, the HD100's included input cable must be used with a PC's composite video-in or S-video-in ports, and its stereo audio input RCA jacks for audio.
Retail pricing for the HDTV100 starts at $99.
Diamond this week also launched the AGP model of its Viper X1950PRO graphics card, boasting tremendous speeds thanks to a 512MB GDDR3 interface, a core clock speed of 575MHz and a 1.38GHz memory speed.
The X1950PRO AGP carries a retail price tag of $299, while a PCI-Express model is $20 cheaper.
