Diamond Merchants Portland OR

Diamond merchants are diamond manufacturers and diamond resellers that directly buy from diamond mines, in the major diamond producing areas of the world, found in mainly Canada, Russia, and South Africa. The loose stones acquired from the mines are cut in diamond cutting centers, such as in Israel and Belgium, by artisans hired by the merchants. These cut stones are then sold on to diamond wholesalers, onto retailers, and finally to clients.

2. Diamond Jewelry

Jewelry made in part by diamonds is popular among jewelry customers, for its allure, enchantment and mystery. These include solitaire diamond rings, antique estate rings, three stone diamond rings, traditional rings, contemporary rings, pave rings, sets of diamond wedding rings, rings worn on the right hand, colored diamond rings, and diamond bands for weddings. Others include wedding rings for men, diamond earrings, diamond bracelets, diamond pendants, diamond brooches and hair pieces, eternity rings, and diamond necklaces.

3. Diamond Color

Color is one of the most important grading aspects associated with diamonds. The color of the overall body of the diamond is graded, on a scale that begins from D and ends with Z. the differences are typically quite subtle, and to reach optimum accuracy, they are graded using appropriate equipment, while in their loose status. Correct source of light called North light is employed, and the best viewing position is upside down. Colors D through F are larger stones, while smaller colorless grade stones receive a maximum F grade.

Colors G through I are listed as ‘face up colorless’ or ‘face white’ grades due to appearing colorless when face up but showing color tints when upside down. Colors J through L are inexpensive when cut properly, and appear colorless but contain color tints. Colors M through Z contain increasing yellow tints, though they are different from colored stones of fancy yellow. Fancy colored stones present all known colors, though some browns are of low quality, therefore cost effective, and can be found in discount stores.

4. Diamond Clarity

Being one of the three important diamond grading processes, it seeks to find inclusions, usually a microscope by formally trained gemologist as part of diamond merchant companies. S12 grade diamonds and above (S12 to WS1) are eye clean, meaning without magnification, one cannot spot inclusions. The inclusions include outer edge inclusions, pinpoints and feathers. The highest clarity grade is the flawless grade, due to a lack of any inclusions using magnification strength of 10x. The grades I1 through to I3 feature fissures, which have broken the surface of the stone and caused surface chips.
