2. Overview

Some of us would not know what to do without them, as they have been very instrumental in people’s way of dressing and the type of clothing items they keep in their houses. Drapers are very helpful as their main work is to sell clothes, clothing material and dry goods. These people offer their clients wide selections of clothes that range from superior designs, a variety of colors for men, women, and children. The reason for the variety of merchandise sold by drapers is that they get their items from different countries, made by both award winning designers and peasant cloth makers.

Some people may find themselves too busy to go and look for clothes thus; drapers help these kinds of people by selling to them different kinds of items on their front porch. This also applies to people that do not like to get out of their homes or those that do not like crowds, which are normal in shopping malls. Another group that greatly benefits from drapers is people that find it increasingly hard to choose stylish items. They get advice from the drapers who then sell them stylish items from their merchandise. Drapers also let people that are crazy about fashion be familiar with the trendy designs available for them including those favored by people considered to have high levels of style for instance, celebrities.

3. Draper’s Clients

Draper’s clients are as varied as the draper’s items. Some men buy shirts, pants, boxers, briefs, ties, suits, and watches from drapers on a monthly and annual basis. There are some that sport classy briefcases that compliment their suits, which they buy from drapers. Women too, are common draper’s clients, buy regular basisily and weekly and they are usually interested draper’s merchandise such as skirts, blouses, suits, shoes, handbags and so on. Drapers also sell different items to sports people of all kinds and many of them actually depend on the drapers to help them choose the comfortable ones that will not be a hindrance as they play. It is common for parents to buy children’s clothes from drapers as well because they usually stock different children items. Another type of drapers is the one, which sells their merchandise over the internet. These ones do not go to people’s homes or be in a particular place.

4. Types of Drapers

It is not quite unheard of to find some enterprising drapers making draper’s merchandise that they sell to clients alongside the ones they have bough from other places. These drapers own their own production houses; make profits from their own items, and from other people’s items. Some drapers sell their own items exclusively. A reason for this is they may want to be worthy competitors to other clothes and dry goods manufacturers. Another reason may be they do not want to get into haggling with suppliers over the prices of merchandise. A third type of drapers, does not make their own items but specializes in selling items they have bought from other people. These type sell their items at higher prices than the initial price charged.
