When preparing for a job interview it is important to make the right decision as to what you wear. Dressing properly for a job interview will most likely set a good first impression for the interviewer, and hopefully put you in a good spot to get the job. There are a few key things to look for when properly dressing for an interview.

STEP 2:

Casual vs. Dressy

You have to know what you are going to interview for and dress accordingly. By that I mean you don't necessarily have to wear a suit to every interview, but rather dress appropriately for what you would be expected to wear on the job. Also don't be afraid to ask beforehand what the dress code is for the job.

STEP 3:

Colors

Going in for an interview is not the best time to try out any fancy new wardrobe with flashy colors. Leave that out fit for another time and place. Stick with dark tones that match, and don't stand out too much.

STEP 4:

Patterns

Same thing goes for patterns in your attire. Stay away from bold patterns, and stick with either a light pin stripe or plain color. This keeps the attention on you and not your outfit.

Everyone has heard the line that first impressions are lasting impressions. Well the best way to make a first impression is to properly dress yourself for the occasion, and it is even more so important to dress properly for that important job interview.
