Can you recommend some event photographers?
Whether you need to show them at a marketing department meeting or you just want to file something for future reference, getting photographs of the various elements of an event (especially the efforts made to incorporate a sponsor) has become increasingly important to event pros. (And when we cant make it to your event, we like to see photos, too.) However, there arent many photographers who shoot events on a regular basis, capturing details such as delicate hors doeuvres, elaborate lighting effects, or intricate flower arrangements. The good ones are quick about shooting an event before the crowds get in and can even snap pictures later without being intrusive.
Staffers at the big agencies like
WireImage and Getty Images can shoot more than celebs on the red carpet if you hire them to do so, as will the shooters from Patrick McMullans firm. And here are a few talented freelancers I see frequently at events:
Andrew Bicknell is quick and friendly, and can burn a CD of his images on-site. His client list includes Gucci, Anheuser Busch, and Glamour. Jeff Thomas of Image Capture is a trusted source for many planners and vendors, with years of experience shooting high-profile events.
