If you've installed DK software on Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 or 2 and received a sound decompression error, don't worry. Follow these instructions and you will be able to run the program.
Steps
- If you receive the following message after installing DK software, "The sound decompression software has not been installed properly. Please run Setup again. This program will now terminate.", don't worry.
- If you have an Internet connection, open the web browser and in the address bar type in: http://www.learnatglobal.com/html/xp_sound.html
- Click the link that says, "Click here to download the XP patch".
- Select Run.
- Wait for the download to load. Then select "Run" again.
- Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
- When you are finished, your DK software should work properly. If it doesn't, write to "Global Software Publishing, N.A., Inc. 535 West 34th Street. NY, NY 10001.
Tips
- You may have to temporarily disable your Antivirus software in order to download this patch. To do this right-click the antivirus software icon in the right corner of your computer screen. Then download and execute the patch. To re-enable your Antivirus software right-click the icon and ?re-enable?. Once the patch is installed your program will run flawlessly.
- If you don't have an Internet Connection, you will not be able to fix the problem.
