(NC)-Flat-panel TVs offer great picture quality and look really impressive when mounted on the wall. If you're considering mounting your TV, there are some things you should know before making a purchase.
The first thing to consider is what type of mount you want. There are a number of options available, including mounts that tilt and swivel and some motorized models that operate via remote control. There are also stationary mounts that do the job but don't provide any movement. The most versatile options offer full range of motion so you can move the TV in any direction to create your preferred viewing angle.
Ceiling mounts are a good option if you would rather suspend the TV from a ceiling location rather than the wall, and under-cabinet mounts work great for small TVs in the kitchen.
The next thing to consider is what to do with all the TV cables once it's installed. Look for a mount that offers good cable management features, such as the Vision Mount LF228 full-motion mount from Sanus Systems that provides through-the-arm cable management so cables are completely hidden inside for a wireless appearance.
Once you've decided on the type of mount you want, you'll need to purchase one compatible with your TV. Wall mounts aren't one-size-fits-all. Your local retailer can help you find a solution or you can try online resources, such as the Sanus Mount Finder (www.sanus.com).
You'll need to know your TV brand and model number, so have that information with you when shopping in a store or online.
