Originally published at Internet.comGigabyte has introduced its latest new series of motherboards, this time featuring the Intel G45 Express chipset. The Gigabyte EG45 series is headlined by the GA-EG45M-DS2H motherboard, featuring a combination of performance, integrated video, security and power-saving options. Along with the standard G45 specifications, the GA-EG45M-DS2H includes several Gigabyte-specific features. Its Ultra Durable 2 design, whereby all Solid, Lower ESR Capacitors are used for better stability and enhanced component lifespan, is complimented with a Dynamic Energy Saver Advanced feature, which includes energy saving technology with hardware-based Dynamic 4-Gear Switching - a first for any motherboard.
The Gigabyte board also includes a built-in Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip, supporting hardware-based 2048-bit encryption and decryption with digital signature keys. Users can store their digital signature key on a removable USB thumb drive, so that their PC will be fully secure, and the key can be easily taken out when away from the desk. DualBIOS is another popular Gigabyte option found on the GA-EG45M-DS2H motherboard, and it provides two physical BIOS ROMs integrated directly onto the board, allowing easy recovery from a bad flash or virus corruption. The Intel X4500HD graphics media accelerator is another nice feature, adding more execution units to the core, as well as supporting HD video playback and other features like Intel Clear Video Technology. Gigabyte has yet to announce suggested retail pricing on the GA-EG45M-DS2H.
