House Painting Equipment Wisconsin

Having the right house painting equipment for the job is very important in order to do a good job. There are many aspects of painting that go beyond simply having the right paint and brushes. You need to be aware of the painting equipment you are using, as well as the preparation that is involved when painting both the inside and outside of your house. Since the paint is visible in and outside of your home you have to make sure you do a good job when painting your house, as by not doing so your home will not look good. A good paint job can liven up your home and make it look cleaner as well as more attractive. You have to remember to get the right painting equipment for the job itself, as well as equipment for when you clean up the job.

2. The Importance of Prep Work – Interior

Perhaps no other job around your home takes more prep work than painting. Preparation is the name of the game when it comes to painting, as the more prep work you do the easier the painting job will be. Prep work includes, covering things and masking off things so the paint does not get on areas that it is not intended for. When you paint the inside of your home you need to cover furniture and other things such as windows, floorboards, and the floor. By not covering these things paint can get on them, which sometimes can be a hassle to clean off. Also by not covering things you have to be much more careful when painting, which will slow you down.

You can cover things with drop cloths and old sheets so paint does not get on them. It is also important, in terms of prep work, to mask things off with tape such as windows, floorboards, and other items that are on your walls. Before you paint, you have to make sure you have enough masking tape to cover the things you do not want paint on. Sure, you can simply be extra careful and use a small brush to paint around these items, but it is much easier and faster to use masking tape to cover them. This is especially the case if you are using a paint sprayer.

3. Exterior

Just because you are painting outside do not think that there is no prep work involved. You still have to cover things outside of your home such as plants, trees, walkways, patios, sidewalks, and cars to make sure you do not get paint on them. Just like painting the inside of your home you should make sure you have enough masking tape before you paint the exterior of your home. Wider masking tape should be purchased before you begin to paint the exterior of your home.

Windows, doors, and other things such as vents need to be covered before you start to paint. Drop cloths and sheets should be used to cover things that are around your home when you are painting. Many times a paint sprayer will be used for exterior painting and you need to cover things, as all the paint will not hit the intended surface. Take some time for prep work before you start to paint the exterior of your home, as it will make the job faster and mush easier to clean up.

4. Cleaning

One aspect of prep work that many people overlook is cleaning the area that you want to paint. If the area that you want to paint is dirty the paint will not stick as well. Before you paint wash the area that you want to paint and let it completely dry before starting to apply the paint. It is also important that you get rid of all cobwebs and small debris for the area you are painting: by not doing so will make it more likely that there will be clumps in the paint and it will not cover as well and not be as smooth.

When painting the exterior of your home it may be a good idea to rent a pressure washer before you paint. A pressure washer can remove a lot of dirt from the outside of your home and make it so the paint will stick better. If there is still a lot of dirt on the outside of your home the paint will not stick as well and the dark areas of dirt or moss will show through if you are using a light colored paint. To ensure that the paint sticks to the surface you need make sure that you thoroughly clean it beforehand.
