Steps

  1. Make sure you listen carefully to the teacher and follow the procedure. Otherwise, you won't understand the lesson, and that can drag down your grade. Pay close attention to the teacher and understand the basics.
  2. Write down all your homework and do it all correctly! Homework is half your grade. If you don't do well on your homework, you won't do well in class, if you don't do well in class, you won't in school.
  3. Be sure you understand the lesson. If you don't ask your teacher if you could get some help. Teachers do understand if you cannot understand the subject in their class. Just ask for help and they'll help you.
  4. Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you don't understand something, you won't do well on the lesson. Don't feel stupid and don't think you're stupid. You are smart if you ask for help.

Tips

  • Stay after school with after-school help. There are after-school tutoring and they help lots with those who are struggling with subjects. Just simply sign up for it and they'll get you a tutor.
  • Copy down notes and look at the board when the teacher is writing something, whether a piece of a math equation or a definition of a word. It will help you.
  • Listen very carefully when you here the words "Test", "Pop Quiz" or "Homework". These three things will be in the future which means that you have to study for them and be prepared.
  • Hook up with a study partner and get pointers from them.
