If you have little or a lot of money, saving some cash can become an attitude and practice that can be very fulfilling. If you haven’t tried it, it’s something that you’ll find fun and even easy. Follow these tips on how you can save more money this year.

STEP 2:

Wait for the sales. To save some cash, take advantage of store sales, discounts, promotions, or freebies. Stop thinking that these sales are just for the less fortunate or the low or average earners. You can always utilize these deals if you want--they're free for all. Shop wiser this year and save. If you have money, that doesn't mean you have to spend it. It pays to wait for the sale season. You'll be able to save.

STEP 3:

Track your finances. Keeping an eye on all of your spending is a good start if you're trying to save money this year. Maybe you're spending too much on coffee without noticing it. Track down where most of your money goes. This may allow you to start spending some money on the other aspects of your life you've probably left out--perhaps for travel or the gym? Getting a better handle on your budget essentially allows you to balance all your expenditures. This way you're also creating a more balanced lifestyle (while having some extra cash stashed aside).

STEP 4:

Get a goal. Setting a clear and definite goal of where your savings will go is a great motivation to save, and keep on saving. Having money as safekeeping for emergency use is a good driving force, but you can also have some fun goals for your savings. Some great incentives to save may be saving for a dream vacation, a car, graduate school or extra degree, being debt-free, starting a family, buying your own place, a luxury or antique collection, or having your own business.

Even if you can already support your avant-garde lifestyle, there will always be a reason for you to save. (Who knows what can happen or when your money may run out.)

If you're a big spender, this might be the time for you to spend big on your savings. By following these fun and easy tips, you won't have to sacrifice some of your occasional splurges.
