Steps

  1. The best thing to do before you start studying, is to write out a time-table. Divide you subjects equally into the different days - and yes, this sounds terrible, BUT YOU HAVE TO INCLUDE THE WEEKENDS!!
  2. So, you have your books with you. You open them up and groan. How are you going find the patience to read and MEMORIZE all this?! Here are some tips:
  3. - Divide each chapter into sections. Learn one section first, then another. This way you'll be learning bit by bit and it might not take as long
  4. - It's nice yo have some music. Some people may think this sounds odd - how are you going to concentrate with music booming out of the speakers? Just keep the volume low, more in the backround.
  5. - It really helps to have some snacks with you. Things like fruit, dried or fresh, crackers, popcorn etc taste nice and aren't too fattening either.
  6. Now you've read the chapter, and perhaps you know all the information now, but how are YOU going to know if you know it....??
  7. - Ask a parent, a sibling or a friend to test you on what you've revised. It probably would be better to ask a patient person to test you, rather than some one who will be constantly correcting. This way, if you got a question wrong, you can look over the section again.
  8. Write few notes after revising a section. This will help you memorize, and if you've left something out, you'll know what to look over.
  9. Repeat the section to yourself. Who cares if someone hears you and thinks your crazy, talking to yourself? At least you'll ace that test!

Tips

  • Start studying at least a month, or a few weeks, before the exam. You don't want to be studying the night before.
  • Give each topic about 20 minutes. Then take a break and get someone to test you. Repeat for all the other topics, or spend more time on weaker subjects.
  • Don't study too much though! Soon the information won't be able to make it's way to the brain, because the brain is going to be tried!
  • Get A LOT of sleep. It's important to be well rested, because then the brain works better - try at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
  • Eat breakfast. It's like fuel for your brain.

Things You'll Need

  • A time-table
  • Your text books - EVERYDAY, INCLUDING WEEKENDS.
  • A notebook and pen.
  • Some music you enjoy
  • Snacks, if you want them.
