Steps

  1. Pick a topic you really care about (if at all possible), particularly something that relates to your interests. This is especially important if you are working on a longer term project. If you don't love your topic, you will get sick of it easily and may dread working on the assignment.
  2. Work with a partner, if you can. That way, you can divide the work and you won't have as much to do.
  3. Make your oral presentation interesting. Make up a song, bring in a food, dress up, come in character or do a skit. It will be much more interesting for the class, and it will be more fun to make up, too!
  4. Don't procrastinate! Things will be a lot easier if you aren't stressed out on finishing them on time.
  5. Talk to your teacher. If you need help with finding information on your topic, writing your report, or anything else, your teacher would be the best person to ask.
  6. Ask a librarian. Librarians are great at providing information resources. Don't be afraid to ask, as answering student questions is the job of a librarian.
  7. Use a variety of sources. Don't just rely on the encyclopedia or a website.
  8. Verify your sources, especially when you are using websites. Make sure you are getting your information from a reputable source.
  9. Sound professional. No Internet slang, check your pronunciation and spelling, and make sure you have your facts right. Ask a friend or parent to read through and give you feedback.
  10. When doing the middle part of your report, you should try adding some climax in the scene which will make more people interested cause many people don't actually listen to the person reciting in front because it's probably too boring to listen to...
  11. Have Fun! Remember, reports don't have to be boring. Throw in a quirky quote or a funny reference. Do what works best for you! Just make sure it relates to your report and is appropriate for the person reading/grading.

Tips

  • It's best for you to start the project ahead of time so you having stress may be avoided!
  • Try to keep your work interesting at all costs so your report may get an A+ from your teacher!
  • When doing your work, try to get some deep insights that may impress your teacher that you obviously worked hard on your report. Think about your topic and say something original.

Warnings

  • When you use information from a source that you didn't write, you must credit the author of that source for that information. Taking their words and using them as your own is plagiarism and can get you in major trouble and ruin your reputation.
  • Avoid slang (example: "This book was totally awesome!"). Teachers absolutely hate that.

Things You'll Need

  • A topic
  • A friend
  • A teacher
  • Creativity
