These professors have probably also worked advised other students that have completed an internship college such as the one you will be completing and so they will probably have a general idea of what you can expect during the internship. Others that you may want to contact include any former employers that have experience in the professional world and maybe even your parents. Most students’ parents have been in the working world for many years and will be able to provide valuable insight on what it takes to succeed.

Another wonderful resource to chat with is your future boss as the internship. This may well be the best route for you because the employer will likely have some great advice for you on how to prepare for the position. They can provide you with specific company guidelines and can provide you with insight on the company’s environment.

Overall, one of the best things you can do when feeling unsure of yourself going into a new job is just put a smile on your face and enter the position with a positive attitude. Other employees at companies are usually more than eager to get to know the new employee, so just keep this in mind on your first day and show an eagerness to get to know everyone.
