Anyone who wishes to form a team, volunteer to help with planning the event, or wants to hear more about this year’s event, should call American Cancer Society, 1-800-ACS-2345. Relay For Life is an overnight event that celebrates cancer survivors while honoring those in the community who lost their battle with cancer. Teams raise funds to fight cancer. Relay For Life of DeKalb County will be June 21-22, at Sycamore High School .

Tuesday, April 8: DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation has scheduled an Economic Outlook Breakfast Tuesday, April 8, 7:30 a.m., at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau. Dr. James Glassman, managing director and senior economist with JP Morgan Chase & Co., will be the featured speaker. Dr. Glassman works closely with the firm’s global treasury, commercial banking and government relations groups and he is an advisor for the firm’s key corporate relationships. He publishes independent research on the principal forces shaping global financial markets. Dr. Glassman’s views are widely cited in the financial media where he is a frequent commentator on economic policy issues. Cost for the breakfast and program is $25. The NIU Department of Communication will host its 8th annual Reality Bytes Student Documentary Film Festival, recognizing exceptional student-produced films nationwide. The festival begins Wednesday, April 2, 9-11 p.m., at The House Café, 263 E. Lincoln Hwy. Festival screenings continue Friday-Saturday, April 4-5, 7-9 p.m., in Room 100 of the NIU Visual and Performing Arts Building. Admission is free and all screenings are open to the public. The festival will feature 17 short documentary films, each with a running time under 30 minutes. Submissions have been received from film students at NIU, Florida State University, Old Dominion University, California Institute of the Arts, Virginia Wesleyan College , Rowan University and the universities of Georgia , New Orleans and Iowa .
