As we know, we are using different devices supports videos in different file format. If you copy your videos to your devices that do not support your videos directly, can the devices play them? In most of the cases, the answer is NO. Even if there is a device said it supports FLV video, in most of the cases, you can still not expect it can play your FLV videos without any problem.

Why? That is because different video formats speak different languages, so if you want your devices to play your videos, you need to translate them to the languages that your devices can understand. And here comes the FLV to AVI MPEG WMV 3GP MP4 iPod Converter, it is a perfect translator that can translate your favorite FLV videos, such as Youtube videos, to your iPod / iPhone / iZune / Xbox360 / Cellphone / Apple TV and so on. You can translate your FLV to nearly all the video languages that any of your devices can understand. After the translation, you can copy the translated videos to your devices directly and play them smoothly.

Let’s see what we have in the converter.

***

Obviously, there is a button bar at the top for adding videos, removing videos, start to convert and so on. And then, there is a list to show what videos have been added. Then there is an output folder, all translated videos will be placed there. And lower, it is the preview zone at the left and settings zone at the right. For the settings, it looks like very complex and too many settings to set. No worries, if you don’t know what do the settings mean, you can just pay attention to the Profiles setting, see below snapshot.

***

As shown, there are lots of profiles for different devices, such as iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, PSP, Zune, Xbox360 and so on. And for many of the devices, there are more than 1 profile with different video outputs. For example, there are iPod MPEG-4 and iPod AVC (H264) for translating videos for iPod, which profile should you choose? Generally, iPod MPEG-4 is enough, as it provides good video quality with smaller size. But if you would like the videos with higher quality, iPod AVC is a better choice.

So far, how to translate a video using the converter? Let’s take the iPod MPEG-4 for example.

First, navigate to the folder that stores your videos, select the videos you want to be translated, drag them to the Source Files list. For me, I dragged my video The Dark Knight to the list. Please see below.

***

Second, if you would like to place the translated videos to a different folder than C:\OutputFolder\, click Change button at the right and specified a different folder. Here we use the default C:\OutputFolder\.

Third, select the profile iPod MPEG-4 Format (*.mp4) in the Profiles list.

***

Fourth, click Convert or press Alt+C to start to translate the video.

***

Then the translation is started, and you can see the progress at the bottom. Please click Stop button in the low right corner in case you want it to stop translating.

***

When the translation is complete, a window will pop up to inform you.

***

Click the OK button to back to the converter. Click Open button at the right side to open the output folder to get the translated videos.

***

That’s it! Sync your translated videos to your iPod and enjoy it.
