If you have a young child, even as young as three or four you can begin teaching your child math concepts. By four or five, they can learn their numbers and number relationships, and by five or six, they can do basic math functions like addition and subtraction. It is important to address math not just in terms of memorization of common functions but by concepts and by helping them grasp abstract ideas.
