When I look at all of the tools that I've used over the years to sell affiliate products, one has worked better than ALL others. When, I analyze commissions earned from selling affiliate products over the past 5 years, one tool has produced more sales than any others. That magical tool is the lowly, Camtasia video.
For those unfamiliar with Camtasia, it's a simple screen capture program that allows you to record all, or a portion of, your computer screen. You can make a video demonstrating what you're doing on your computer as you do it. You can make the video with or without sound.
There are many reasons Camtasia videos work so well, but two primary reasons that I use them.
First, Camtasia videos allow you to prove what you assert. For example, if I just told you that a piece of software was easy to use, you'd probably think, "Yes, it's easy for you, but I could never use it." However, if I used the software and recorded a Camtasia video explaining what I was doing, as I did it, you would be able to see how simple and easy it was to use.
If I sifted through my Google listings, or my Paypal account, and recorded it as I did, you'd see proof positive of my search engine rankings, or my Paypal earnings. Camtasia also has a "jump to" feature which allows you to automatically send a viewer to a chosen page at the end of the video. The viewer doesn't have to click to go to a page, the video automatically redirects to the indicated url when the movie finishes. This is very powerful. You can tell a prospect about a product or service, and then at the end of the video send them directly to a sales page or order form. Then they only have to decide whether or not to place the order.
If you are not using Camtasia videos in your affiliate marketing mix, then you should begin today. It's a very intuitive and easy to use program.
As I began developing more and more of my own products, I often even created Camtasia videos for select affiliates. I'd create a video, and have the "jump to" url specify their affiliate link. This made promoting my products virtually NO work. All the affiliate had to do was tell prospects to watch the video, and then the video automatically sent the prospect to the affiliate url at the end, where hopefully the viewer ordered.
