Ingersoll Rand added three new units to its truck-mounted Onboard Power Solutions® air compressors. The diesel-powered VHP40RMD, the gas-powered VHP40RMG and the hydraulic-driven HP60CMH air compressors. All were designed to be mounted on standard-sized utility or service trucks. They will run light air tools, as well as larger pneumatic tools.

The fuel-driven VHP40RMD and VHP40RMG are powered by three-cylinder, four-stroke Kubota engines. The diesel-drive unit is equipped with glow plugs for cold-weather operation. Both units feature two 8-inch tanks (20.5 gallons) that are permanently piped together with the 9.2-gallon fuel tank sitting between the two receiver tanks.

Each compressor has a battery for 12-volt startup, sophisticated engine and airend cooling built into the unit, and a full sheet metal enclosure to protect the internal components from potential weather damage. All major internal components are attached to an isolated sub-base to minimize vibration to the vehicle carrying the compressor. The instrumentation and controls make these units easy to operate. Reduced operating cost and noise is provided by a two-position throttle. An air restriction indicator alerts the operator when the air filter needs to be changed. Oil drains are easily accessible foreasy maintenance.

The HP60CMH features service panels conveniently located to reach the most important components. The oil change process is simplified by a remote compressor drain and a no-spill, spin-on separator element and oil filter. An air/oil separation system is integrally designed into the compressor, eliminating the need for an air/oil separator tank, reducing size.
