At present the world climate is under a lot of strain as more pollution is being emitted into the atmosphere than ever before. This does not have to be the case though as there a number of steps that every individual and business can take to reduce the number of carbon dioxide emissions produced.

According to independent research carbon dioxide emissions from the home account for up to a quarter of the UK’s total carbon dioxide emissions with each household producing on average 6 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. This is a staggering amount, especially when experts suggest that with the right actions and guidance this figure could be reduced by 2 tonnes per household per year.

Now many home owners will question why they should go to all the extra effort of being more energy efficient and using renewable energy resources? The answer to this question is simple, the average home in the UK spend around £450 on energy per year, this figure is over 50% more than the amount spent on energy in an energy efficient home. So by switching to and using renewable energy resources and being more energy efficient each household can make a big difference to the amount of carbon dioxide they emit to the earth’s atmosphere and save hundreds of pounds on energy bills. However, it is not just enough for home owners to be energy efficient, for the world to be a cleaner place energy providers, local governments and councils are required to commit to the production of renewable energy.

With a considerable commitment from authorities and home owners to renewable energy resources such as solar power and wind turbines the world can be a much cleaner place!
