In this issue, we honor our Dealer of the Year for 2007: Tony Miresse, of Wisconsin-based Art's Cameras Plus. Art's Cameras Plus is indicative of so many other independent businesses across the country today—adapting to the changing retail marketplace in order to be profitable.
We visited with Tony and his team for a first-hand look at some of the great things he's doing—and we share it all with you (see page 12).
As the year comes to a close and we look ahead to 2008, I'd like to share some of the changes you'll see, beginning with our January issue. Earlier this year, the newspaper of record, The New York Times, trimmed itself down to make it easier for its readers to peruse. Many of our own readers have requested an easier-to-read publication—so we'll be changing PTN's size from a tabloid to more of a standard-size publication. What won't change: the great editorial you've come to expect of PTN.
Future issues of this magazine will be easier to read, filled with more articles about new revenue streams, best practices, marketing tips, business strategies, product innovations and reviews, exclusive news stories, and more! Beginning with the January issue, you'll witness the fresh new direction PTN is heading in. Our cover story will spotlight the new breed of second- and third-generation specialty retail and minilab owners who have embraced change with enthusiasm and a passion for bringing their family-owned businesses into the digital age.
Here's to a successful new year!
Best,
