Top Honors for EMS Magazine Arizona

I am extremely pleased and honored to announce that on March 14, EMS Magazine was honored for journalism excellence by American Business Media at the 54th Annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards.

In 2007 we published a five-part series between January and May titled Coping with Violent People, in which authors Thom Dick and Steve Rollert reviewed talk-down procedures that can be used by any EMS provider to de-escalate potentially violent situations, as well as solid restraint procedures.

This series was judged the winner of the best how-to article or series of articles category in its entry classification. The judging panel, chaired by Bob Dowling of the Dowling Group, selected 35 Neal Award winners from 1,045 entries.

This is a tremendous honor for EMS Magazine and the authors. The Jesse H. Neal Awards are considered the Pulitzer Prizes of the business media and are the industry's most prestigious and sought-after editorial honors.
