Mobius Management Systems' Total Content Integrator (TCI) provides data connectivity capabilities between disparate content/data repositories and the clients that need access to them. The vendor bills the product as "...connecting any content source with any content user or application."

The package is Web-services based and receives queries from end user applications, translating those queries into the formats understood by the target repositories. It then executes the query on behalf of the user and returns the results. The vendor offers pre-built adapters (separately licensed) for multiple content and data sources, including FileNet, IBM DB2 Content Manager OnDemand, EMC Documentum Content Server, Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services, Microsoft SQL Server, file systems and Web sites, and search engines, among others. The product ships with an adapter for the vendor's own ViewDirect repositories, as well as an SDK allowing for the creation of custom adapters.

The newest version of the platform boasts a published WSDL interface, a WSDL-described SOAP entry point for the methods that it contains; client applications use the WSDL interface to access the utility by calling the appropriate methods with specified parameters. As of this writing, the vendor lists 5 distinct services as offered by the platform:

- Search, including the ability to search multiple disparate repositories with a single request

- Authentication, including single-sign-on (the user need only authenticate to TCI, not each of the underlying repositories individually) and the ability to gather profile data from several sources, including content management systems, data stores (ERP/CRM systems, Novell eDirectory, Active Directory), or any relational database

- Index Mapping, allowing for the mapping of different index values from different repositories, and the resolution of index names between the "universal" indexes defined in TCI and the actual repositories

- Content Delivery, allowing for the delivery of retrieved content in HTML format for Web browsers (with automatic conversion) or in the repository's native format for appropriate viewers

- Archive Write, the ability to write content directly into the vendor's ViewDirect archive

TCI runs in .NET, UNIX, and J2EE environments.
