Window Cleaning Tips Beverly Hills CA

Cleaning a window may sound like a fairly simple process, and really, it is. However, if you do not clean your windows properly, you will end up with streaks, spots, and windows that still look dirty. Another common mistake that most people make is to use soap and water on their windows, especially the outside.

Cleaning a window may sound like a fairly simple process, and really, it is. However, if you do not clean your windows properly, you will end up with streaks, spots, and windows that still look dirty. Another common mistake that most people make is to use soap and water on their windows, especially the outside. The soap can leave your windows dirtier than when you started, and can be difficult to rinse. If you want truly clean, sparkling windows, follow these easy steps to clean them.

Let's start with the inside:

  1. Crumple a piece of newspaper into a ball. Use this to rub the windows and remove any large dirt spots.
  2. Fill a spray bottle with 2 parts white vinegar and 1 part water.
  3. Spray this mixture onto the surface of your window.
  4. Using a soft, lint-free cloth (this is important because getting lint all over your windows will only create extra work) wipe the liquid from the window with side-to-side strokes. (It is also important that you only wipe in a side-to-side direction.)

Now move to the outside:

  1. Crumple another piece of newspaper into a ball, and remove as much dirt as you can from the outside surface of the window.
  2. Spray the vinegar mixture onto the outside surface of the window.
  3. Use a clean cloth to wipe the liquid from the surface of the window with up-and-down strokes.

At this point, stop, step back, and look closely at your window. Because you used side-to-side strokes to clean the inside, and up-and-down strokes to clean the outside, it should be fairly easy to tell which side still has streaks. If there are streaks, go back to where they are and repeat the cleaning process as often as necessary. Even if you use a power washer for the outside of your windows, wiping the inside with only one direction will help you to see where spots and streaks are.

Time Saving Tip: Do the outside surface of all of those windows first, and then go clean all of the inside surfaces, as it will save you running in and out.

This window-cleaning method will help save you time and frustration, as well as give you beautiful windows, and it works well on glass tabletops and glass insets on cabinets too. In addition, using the vinegar mixture on mirrors will leave them shining, and - as with windows - be sure to use a lint-free cloth to avoid extra work.
