If you like to write in general, or are required to write a report for work or school assignment, or undertake any project, where quality writing is required, it is advantageous to be aware of sentence structure, grammar and other important requirements for quality writing. One of such requirements is the construction of paragraphs, which many people actually find to be a difficult activity. Actually, writing in paragraphs is simple, provided you are aware of the rationale behind it. What is a paragraph? In simple terms, it is just a collection of several sentences. What is a good paragraph? Now, that is a different story altogether, and the subject of this article. Listed below are easy guidelines on how to write paragraphs.

STEP 2:

Paragraph structure. As mentioned above, a paragraph is a collection of sentences. A good paragraph, on the other hand, is a collection of sentences grouped around a specific subject. Therefore, when writing, remember to place different sets of ideas and topics into specific paragraphs. Like any piece of writing, a paragraph also has a beginning, a body and a conclusion. Take a look at the two paragraphs in step one, for example. It starts with an introduction, the topic in this case being "what to do before you start writing". It then goes on to list ways and means of collecting information, organizing the same, and ends with how to structure individual paragraphs. The writing then segues seamlessly into describing the structure of a paragraph. Isn't that simple?

STEP 3:

Draft and final copy. Writing a rough draft first will help you in refining the structure and beginning and ending of every paragraph. Once you're certain that you've written all that you wanted to, take a look at the sentence structure and paragraph placement. Make any corrections if necessary and then prepare a final copy of your work.As is evidenced from the preceding steps, writing in paragraphs is actually an easy task. Just remember to construct individual paragraphs around one central idea; each of the main points you want to highlight in your writing should form the subjects of individual paragraphs.
